Brazilian Waxing Anyone?
the bleeding is finally subsiding, turning color like it normally does. i’d say it lasted 7 days. what a relief! my skin was getting very irritated wearing only pads for the duration.
i read on a forum that some women’s bleeding were lasting for longer than mine, anywhere from 10 days to several weeks. yuck.
so, no dr. says to what a cycle before trying to conceive. being that i’m irregular, that might be a few months. oh well. maybe i should try to plan out the conception so that we will concieve a boy, at least according to the chinese pregnancy calendar.
i thought i had posted an entry about my pregnancy, but it’s not showing, so maybe it got lost in cyberspace. anyway, it was discovered through an ultrasound that i had a ‘miscarriage.’ technically a blighted ovum, where the embryo doesn’t develop into a fetus most likely due to chromosomal problems. so nature took its course and ‘aborted’ the pregnancy by destroying the ovum, but left the gestational sac. so the dr. suggested and i agreed the best thing to do would be the d&c. i didn’t want to wait for my body to expel the sac on its own, who know when that might happen, and the longer that was inside, the higher risk for infection.
so today i had the d&c (dilation and curettage) done at the dr’s office. it wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be, and it was all over within 45 min.
there wasn’t any pain, just a slight discomfort. the dr. had me take 800mg of ibuprofen 1 hr before the procedure and an antibiotic when i got to the office. he did a very good job at numbing, didn’t feel the needle at all. when he started the curettage, there was no pain, but i could feel the suction pulling at my insides, that’s where most of the discomfort was. after it was done, i cleaned up and walked out the door. so far there’s very little bleeding, which is good in my opinion.
so i’m feeling fine right now, just some very minor discomfort now and then. dr. says to wait one menstrual cycle before trying again to conceive.
