6/12/09 Update

ryann is now doing mini push-ups. she can push up pretty high when she’s upset and trying to look for mommy.

she can also roll over onto her tummy to sleep and did it a few times last and this week, although she hasn’t done it for a couple of nites now.

and, for the past couple of nites she hasn’t been sleeping well. possibly teething causing her a bit of distress. she still catnaps during the day.

jenna has become even more defiant and pisses me off alot. she won’t listen, talks back, and is beginning to physically retaliate with lite slapping.

Help

i need help. i have been miserable…i may have ppd. i’ve had thoughts of leaving everything behind. i’m overwhelmed with a very demanding baby. an under-appreciated kindergartener, and an unsympathetic, non-understanding spouse. i really want to leave my spouse more than anything else.

4 Months Well Baby Check-Up

40 mins till pau hana time. getting off early so that i can take bg for her well baby check up and get her 2nd series of shots. i’m anticipating a bit of crying after she gets poked…hopefully it won’t last too long…might possibly need to bf her b4 we leave. hope she doesn’t get any fever…but it’s possible she might…i think the the last time she got one.

Dancing With Lady Gaga

last nite i watched dwts just to see Lady Gaga perform. i’ve become a fan of hers since i heard Just Dance. she has a quirky personality, yet i think she can really, actually sing, even though her current radio-played songs don’t really showcase her singing ability.

New Baby Expo Spr ’09

on sunday i went to the new baby expo (held 2x/yr i think) and i was not too impressed with the offerings from the various vendors there. sure, there were things that piqued my interest, but only for a moment. for some odd reason, i guess, i don’t seem to get too excited about seeing things in person, whereas if someone else had it online my eyes would be glued to the monitor. maybe it’s the introvert in me that doesn’t like to show others how i feel about their product, i’d rather hide behind a screen and browse online.

the expo does provide opportunities for both new & expecting mommies and businesses. mommies can see what baby stuff they can buy or find locally (or something similar online) all in one place and businesses can tap into the “gotta have it” mommy market that don’t make it to their brick & mortar stores or who don’t physical stores.

New Family Member

it’s been a long while since i’ve blogged here, and i just wanted to let others know (if there’s any readers following) that on jan. 16, 2009 my 2nd daughter was born.

she was born at 6:42am at kapiolani children’s & women’s medical center, weighing in at 7lbs 10oz.

Brazilian Waxing Anyone?

yesterday i took the plunge and got a brazilian waxing from a gal i’d recommend to others.

i’d been thinking about getting one for the longest time, but have always been hesitant after reading posts in blogs and forums from other gals who’ve done it and said thatat it hurt like a mofo.

what made me finally do it was my dh.  he had it done on himself and he said it wasn’t so bad.  but then, that’s what he’d say even if it was.  he doesn’t like to really admit that he’s a wuss.

so, in addition to the brazilian i got my eybrows & upper lip waxed.  the gal worked on these first, and then proceeded to work on the brazilian.

i wasn’t nervous or anything.  i figured that if i survived the pain of childbirth and a d&c, i’d be able to handle the pain of my hairs being ripped off my pubic area.  taking 400mg of ibuprofen 1-hour before helped a lot in blocking the pain.  of whatever pain i felt the one that really made me flinch was when the wax took off some skin, and that stung like hell.

the gal had me undress my bottoms and cover myself with a towel in privacy.  when she came back she uncovered half of my pubic area and had me bend my leg to expose the genitals.  did i want it all off or leave some?  she recommended that first timers might want to save some since the area where the hair isn’t removed is the most sensitive.  so i went with that i told her that i wanted the dorito chip instead of the landing strip, which in the end doesn’t look much like the dorito chip triangle. but that’s okay, it still came out pretty good.

so she proceeded to work in sections, placing the wax and then st-ripping the hairs off.  for me it really wasn’t bad at all.  i even was asked to help by pulling up my belly to make the skin taut where she needed it, and pulling lower down to help expose more skin.  when she was done with the pubic area, she moved on to the anal area.  i was asked to lie on my side in a fetal position and asked to help again by pulling up my butt cheek to expose the anus.  she was done within a couple of rips.

then it was all said and done. 

the top area that had the most hairs is just a bit puffy and red, but i don’t feel any pain except for the area where the skin got ripped off.  another day or two and i’ll really enjoy having an almost hair-free pube.  i don’t know why i waited so long to get a brazilian.  it was one of the best things i’ve done for myself.
